TLT's Community

As a relatively small school, with approximately 300 students, The Learning Tree has the feel of a close-knit family. We offer our students individual attention in a nurturing, constructive and safe environment.

We work cooperatively with our community to educate our students and instill morals.

We encourage our parents and extended family to become involved in The Learning Tree, to help us continue our tradition of providing a quality education.

Back to School Family Cookout

Sponsored by TLT's Parent Council

At the beginning of each school year The Learning Tree hosts an afternoon to welcome new families to our community.

In 2018, the Parent Council proposed the idea

to have the event at a park in New Rochelle.

The day included games and a cookout.  All attendees had a wonderful time.

Autumn Family Dance

Our families look forward to our annual Autumn Family Dance. The dance is theme-based, where attendees have the option to dress up.

Past themes have been: the 80's, the 70's and Hip Hop, to name a few.

Emergency Preparedness Workshop

TLT's annual Emergency Preparedness Workshop shares information with the community about the steps necessary to prepare for an emergency.  The focus of the workshop is acquiring skills, foods to store, etc.

Giving Tuesday - A Global Day of Giving

The Tuesday after Thanksgiving, there's a fundraiser on Facebook.  There's a chance that FB and the other sponsoring company may match all funds raised, until they reach their determined maximum.

Kwanzaa Fair

As a community, we come together to celebrate our African culture, through music, food, and art.

Our fair attracts vendors with unique items, perfect for the gift-giving season.

Kwanzaa honors African heritage in African American culture and is observed December 26 - January 1, every year.

Paint Social

Art = creative expression

Where the young, the older, the novice and the experienced artists converge to create magic on a canvas.

Great time had by all and the finished products, while very different are all magnificent.

STEM-Pi Day Festival

Celebrate math with us.  Activities revolve around math, in honor of Pi Day (3/14). and recently included activities in the field of science, technology, and engineering.

Daddy Daughter Dance

St. Jude Trike-a-Thon

The St. Jude Trike-A-Thon is a donation program that teaches students riding safety and the importance of helping others while benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Money raised through St. Jude Trike-A-Thon events help keep life as normal as possible for patients during treatment.

Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Moms and daughters dress up in their Sunday best for an afternoon of tea and hors d'oeuvres.

The daughters make a presentation and a wonderful time is had by all.

At the end of the school year, staff, teachers, parents, and friends gather for an evening of delicious food, good music, and ambiance.  The event is to celebrate the wonderful job the teachers have done.
